Amuri Historical Society

Hours: Sunday 2pm to 4pm or by appointment. Admission: Donation. The museum is housed in a very interesting and attractive cob cottage. The old church located at the rear of this cottage houses memorable scrapbooks from the early years and many photographs which are well worth a look.

Kaiapoi Museum

Administered by the Kaiapoi District Historical Society and housed in Kaiapoi Historic Court House. As well as an interesting collection of objects from the Kaiapoi's yesteryears, it holds an extensive pictoral collection plus early newsprint, Kaiapoi Lodges, and Kaiapoi Woollen Mills collections of days gone by.

It was established in 1990 when members of Sefton-Kowai CWI decided to 'collect, preserve and exhibit records of the cultural history of the local area'. The name was changed to Kowai Archives in 1997 after almalgamation with the Amberley Historical Society. The Society has always depended on the work of volunteers, and we welcome anyone who can spare an hour or two to help.

Rangiora and Districts Early Records Society

Hours 1.30-4pm Wednesday and Sunday. Admission: Adults $2.00, Children 50cents. Research charges $10 per hour plus expenses for written research. The Rangiora Museum is a local history museum with a very extensive photographic and archival collection covering Rangiora and Districts. We also have displays including an early 1890s bedroom, parlour, shop and a restored cob cottage.
